The story: One of the most important people to have ever influenced the South American natives as a whole is Viracocha. (He has many other names as well, such as Quetzalcoatl.) He is described as having red hair, a red beard, blue eyes, and pale skin, although as for the skin, he spent a lot of time outdoors so he probably wasn't that pale, just pale compared to the native peoples. He is also described as wearing a white tunic with a leopard belt and a white robe.
The original stories about him invariably describe him as a very peaceful, kind person who taught the native peoples to live in peace and harmony with each other and with nature, and also about the sciences.
There is a little clay figurine of a bearded man. It's very old and was found in a Central American pyramid. It is thought to have been Quetzalcoatl, it seems like a fairly accurate face for a bearded Caucasian.
